WE’RE MOVING ! A NEW START

Published on 21 January 2022 at 22:53

I'm so excited to move y'all !! The ones who follow my stories daily, will know why too..

We're moving to a cute duplex apartment, what looks like the perfect apartment for us ! I will take you guys on a home tour when we are finally moved !

Anyways ! I've managed to sell my old furniture that is actually not so old, so luckily I could still sell it .. Cause I want new furniture.

TRENDS DON'T LAST FOREVER ?

Cause new furniture trends appear every year. It is difficult for many people to keep up with these trends. That's why I created this blog too. Here you will find some furniture trends / inspo. That will keep you up-to-date.

It is also good to buy new furniture every now and then. This way your rooms in the house get a fresh look again. (I always try to set aside an amount every month for these kinds of purchases. This makes it easier to occasionally buy new furniture and things you want.)

These are the winners for our new apartment

LET'S TALK TRENDS.

I've created this moodboard to see which items I really wanted to bring into our new home, We've wanted everything to match perfectly there. So I also think it's easier if you start from scratch (without old furniture) and really see what will look good in your new home before you move in. And this way you can also see best which way is easiest to place the furniture & what you'll be needing where.

The style I'm going for is something with light/neutral tones. Y'all know I adore neutrals :D Something calm and peaceful looking.

I love vintage too ! & Vintage remains a recurring trend. Vintage furniture/decorations is also completely trending this year. You see more and more households with this type of furniture. I'm almost starting to think that vintage furniture/decorations will stay trending forever. And I'm not angry about that :P This trend keeps coming back so often that you can never go wrong with it!

When you think of vintage furniture/deco you often think of very old-fashioned tinted furniture. But this doesn't have to be the case. It doesn't always have to be furniture with flowers on it. But it can have a very simple and chique look too.

Play with texture for example in your sofa (but keep it simple) fluffy rugs & woven baskets, maybe an old baroque vibe mirror to add an extra eye catcher (I also did a fun diy project for a cloud mirror to match my decor - I will link underneath) The textures will make your room come together.

Mirrors are also a great way to fill up an empty wall & create a optical bigger room in smaller spaces !

I personally love to keep my furniture very simple I think this looks very chique these days & It doesn't always have to be super expensive to look chique by the way, maybe I can do a blog later; about where to find budget friendly furniture LMK in the weekly Q&A box if you guys are interested in this topic.

For decorations I would love to use artsy vases with fresh flowers, little sculptures, frames, fashion magazines/books & my number one to make everything super cosyyy "CANDLES" these days you have them in all types of sizes & shapes, a bit artsy looking too and I'm obsessed with them it's super fun to play with it in your decor. & For the handy people over here I'll do a super fun candle diy later on my page so stay tuned!

TIP💡

So my main tips are to work with simple basic items (then nothing can't go really wrong if trends change you can just change to the trending decor atm) & NEUTRALS :D Work with eye catcher decorations, but not to bombastic (or if you want some color, I personally would use it in the deco instead of your furniture/walls) And play with texture in your sofa, rugs, basket, frames to make everything come together 🤍

I hope you guys found this useful, If you have any questions feel free to dm me !

MOVING TIP💡

I've planned everything for the move a lot in advance so that it can't go wrong. I even found this super handy  "MOVING STARTER PACK" list. 📦

I'll share it here so when you guys move someday you'll have a checklist for the important things you'll need to take with you!
